The Print House Gallery – International Women’s Day Open Call

We are pleased to announce an open call for an upcoming group exhibition at the Print House Gallery in March 2023, in recognition of International Women’s Day.

We are seeking artwork from London-based artists that speaks to the powerful and resilient history of women’s rights and progress throughout the world, as well as artworks that empowers and represents women today.

We welcome artwork from any artist based in London, however we recognize the importance of amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups, and we will give preference to artwork from female & non-binary artists, and other underrepresented voices. Additionally, we seek to promote the local community, and will give preference to artists based in East London.

Eligible media include paintings, photography, prints, textile, illustrations, digital art, poems, etc. – Anything that can be hung on a wall. You can apply with one piece or a body of work.

Deadline for submission is Wednesday 22nd February 2023. You’ll be contacted by the 24th February with the results. If selected, you must bring your artwork to us by 2nd March.

Submission is completely free of charge and there are no fees involved if your work is selected. We won’t take any commission from the sales. The funds from sold artworks go back to the artists 100%.

All work must be framed/ ready to hang. Our team will be responsible for every aspect of the exhibition, including installing the artworks.

To apply, send an email to louise@bootstrapcharity.com with the following information:

• Your name as you want it displayed in the gallery, our posters and social media; your age, which London borough you live in, and a short artist statement. You can also include your website and your social media accounts.

• Images of your work attached to the email (Jpeg format preferably and any quality is accepted as long as we can see your work clearly).

• Details of the artworks (title, description, size, medium and price). If you are not certain about the exact dimensions, then please put the approximate size of the artworks.

There will be an opening viewing event on Tuesday 7th of March from 6-9pm with drinks. We will send more information on this later. The works will be on display from this date to the 31st March.

The Print House Gallery is located at 18 Ashwin Street E8 3DL and is open from Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
